After the polish has set up use a 100% Horse Hair Shine Brush for the initial shining. Use a black brush for black shoes and a light colored brush for all others. The brush does pick up some of the polish so if you have many colors you might want a separate brush for each color. If they are similar you can use the light brush for different tans and browns.
Brushing should work the polish into the leather and all the cracks and crevices and also take off any excess polish from the shoe as well as beginning the shining process. Any excess polish should come off on the brush so when you do your final shining with the shine cloth the
cloth will not get caked with polish.
